68. James⁵ BARTON (Penuel⁴, Ebenezer³, William², Edward¹) was born in North Yarmouth, ME about 1744.⁽⁷⁸⁾

He married Lydia INGERSOLL 27 November 1762 in Falmouth, Cumberland, ME.⁽⁷⁹⁾ Lydia was born 16 November 1742 in Gloucester, Essex, MA. Lydia was the daughter of Joseph INGERSOLL and Hannah DAVIS.

He was baptized 1744 in North Yarmouth, ME. James is called a mariner in Cumberland County court of General Sessions when Lydia Ingersoll a single woman declared James Barton to be the father of her son 27 February 1763. James and Lydia joined the 1st Parish Church of Falmouth 31 May 1767.

James BARTON and Lydia INGERSOLL had the following children:

162 i. Robert⁶ BARTON was born circa 1763. He was baptized 7 June 1767 in Falmouth, Cumberland, ME.

163 ii. James BARTON was born circa 1765. He was baptized 7 June 1767 in Falmouth, Cumberland, ME.

164 iii. Lydia BARTON was born circa 1766. She was baptized 21 October 1767 in Falmouth, Cumberland, ME.
