He married Almira Sens GUY. Almira was born 22 September 1810 in Osergatchie, St. Lawrence, NY.(714) Almira was the daughter of Robert GUY and Laura STICKNEY. Almira died 10 March 1881 in Red Bluffs, Tahema, CA, at 70 years of age. Her body was interred in Sacramento, Sacramento, CA.
An unknown person was listed as the head of a family on the 1840 Census in Des Moines Cnty, IA. Hiram was listed as the head of a family on the 1870 Census in Putah, Yolo, CA. The following individuals are also linked to this event: Livinia Meranda GILLETT (household member); Herman D. BARTON (household member); Jane BARTON (household member); Isaac BAYLES (household member); Almira Sens GUY (household member). The family moved to Iowa in 1837 and settled on a farm eleven miles from Burlington. Hiram and Almira returned to NY in 1859 and bought a farm on which they lived until 1865 when they left for California.
