Lucy was the daughter of William Thomas NICHOLS and Thyrza CRAMPTON. Lucy died 24 January 1891 in Chicago, Cook, IL, at 30 years of age. He married Emma Louise WELLS 12 October 1892 in Towanda, PA. Emma was born 20 May 1863 in Towanda, PA. Emma died November 1941 in Altadena, Los Angeles, CA, at 78 years of age. 3901 vii. Raymond Wells BARTON was born in IL June 1899. Raymond died 1918 at 19 years of age.

3902 viii. Ralph Dix BARTON was born in Chicago, Cook, IL 5 March 1902. Ralph died 1948 at 46 years of age. He married Hildegarde KILLIP.

Ralph was listed as a son in Emma Louise WELLS's household in the 1930 census. In the 1930 census Ralph is living with his mother and is a flooring salesman.
