586. Josiah⁷ BARTON JR. (Josiah⁶, Reuben⁵, Joshua⁴, Samuel³, Matthew², Edward¹) was born in NY 15 November 1807. Josiah died 31 July 1889 in Hillsdale, Hillsdale, MI, at 81 years of age.

He married Susan JOHNSON. Susan was born about 1804 in South Reading, Windsor, VT. Susan's surname Johnson is given at the late marriage of son, Isaac.

A refrence to Hillsdale, MI was found in the pension file for his father Josiah, Sr. and mother, Eunice Rathbone. Josiah is a shoemaker in the 1850 census and appears to have gone to MI after the birth of their youngest child. In the 1880 census his parent birthplaces are unknown for his father and RI for his mother. The 1880 special schedule says that Josiah was blind, having lost his sight at age 71.

1437 iii. Sarah Mary. BARTON was born in NY about 1832. Sarah died 6 June 1872 in Bennington, Shiawassee, MI, at 39 years of age.

1438 iv. Isaac T. BARTON was born in NY about 1834. Isaac died 17 August 1864 in Andersonville, GA, at 30 years of age. He was inducted into the military 14 November 1862 in Hillsdale, Hillsdale, MI. Isaac enlisted as a private on 14 November 1862 and was enlisted in Company E of the 8th Cavalry Regiment of Michigan 20 January 1863. He died as a prisner of war at Andersonville, Georgia 17 August 1864.

1439 v. Susan M. BARTON was born in NY about 1835.

+ 1440 vi. George R. BARTON was born December 1837.

1441 vii. Charlotte B. BARTON was born in NY about 1839.

1442 viii. Helen M. BARTON was born in NY 9 May 1843. She married Andrew J. KAISER 3 July 1865. Andrew was born 2 November 1841 in Ohio.
