622. Waitman⁷ BARTON (Levi Tomlin⁶, Ezekiel⁵, Elisha (Elijah)⁴, Samuel³, Matthew², Edward¹) was born in Granby, Hampshire, MA 31 August 1811.

He married Hannah FROTHINGHAM 25 March 1839 in Boston, Suffolk, MA.⁽⁸⁰²⁾ Hannah was born about 1813 in MA. Hannah was the daughter of Nathaniel FROTHINGHAM.

Waitman was listed as the head of a family on the 1850 Census in Quincy, Adams, IL. The following individuals are also linked to this event: Henry BARTON (household member); Ellen BARTON (household member); Edward BARTON (household member); Hannah FROTHINGHAM (household member). Wait was said to be from Marion County, MO at his marriage. He and his brother, Otis are neighbors in the 1850 census and are called carpenters.

Waitman BARTON and Hannah FROTHINGHAM had the following children:

1515 i. Henry⁸ BARTON was born in MO about 1843.

1516 ii. Edward BARTON was born in MO about 1844.

1517 iii. Ellen BARTON was born in St. Louis, St. Louis, MO 29 October 1847. Ellen died 14 February 1911 in Boston, Suffolk, MA, at 63 years of age.⁽⁸⁰³⁾ Ellen was single and died a suicide.
