1864. Francis Augustus⁸ BARTON (Ira Moore⁷, Hannah⁶, Stephen⁵, Edmund⁴, Samuel³, Matthew², Edward¹) was born in Worcester, Worcester, MA 24 October 1836.⁽¹⁶⁴⁰⁾ Francis died 29 January 1898 in San Francisco, San Francisco, CA, at 61 years of age.

He married Emily Josephine WOOD 07 September 1864 in Chico, Butte, CA. Emily was born about 1843 in AL. Emily was the daughter of George WOOD and Caroline WIFE OF GEORGE WOOD.

Francis was listed as the head of a family on the 1870 Census in Chico, Butte, CA. Francis is a bookkeeper in the 1880 census living in his mother-in-law's home.

Francis Augustus BARTON and Emily Josephine WOOD had the following children:
