1084. Hiram Elhanan Winchester⁸ BARTON (Bazaleel⁷, Peter⁶, Bezaleel⁵, Samuel⁴, Samuel³, Matthew², Edward¹) was born in Croydon, Sullivan, NH July 29, 1822.⁽¹²⁵²⁾ Hiram died 24 February 1900 in Vineland, NJ, at 77 years of age.⁽¹²⁵³⁾

He married twice. He married Bethanna WOOD. Bethanna was born about 1825 in South Reading, Windsor, VT. Bethanna was the daughter of Ebenezer WOOD. Bethanna died 31 March 1875 in Newport, Sullivan, NH, at 49 years of age. Bethanna was listed as the head of a family on the 1870 Census in Newport, Sullivan, NH. In the 1870 census Bethanna and her children were all working in a wollen mill.

The 1860 Bethanna is 10 years older and born in VT. The death or divorce took place between the 1860 and 1863 when the next group of children was started.

Edward was using his Middle name of Winchester at the 1900 census in which he followed his father as a music teacher. In the 1890 city directory they were living at 154 Pamona Terrace in Philadelphia and he was a musician.
