77. Josiah⁵ BARTON (Ebenezer⁴, Ebenezer³, William², Edward¹) was born in Epsom, Merrimack, NH January 21, 1759.⁽⁹⁶⁾ Josiah died 1820 at 61 years of age.

He married Mehitabel JONES September 6, 1781 in Chichester, Merrimack, NH.⁽⁹⁷⁾ Mehitabel was born October 30, 1760 in Deerfield, Merrimack, NH.

Josiah was listed as the head of a family on the 1790 Census in Pittsfield, Merrimack, NH.⁽⁹⁸⁾ The following individuals are also linked to this event: Charles BARTON (free wh male 0-16); Margaret BARTON (free wh female); Mehitabel JONES (free wh female); Mehitabel BARTON (free wh female); Hannah BARTON (free wh female). He made a will 6 September 1810. He was listed as an unknown person's ward 28 January 1817 in Pittsfield, Merrimack, NH. Josiah had his will probated 25 November 1820 in Exeter, Rockingham, NH. November 24 1781 Josiah and his father were among those who petitioned the selectmen of Chichester to call a town meeting to decide on a division of the town into 2 parishes.

At the 1790 Census there were 2 males over 16 in the household, 1 male under 16 (probably Charles) and 5 females. Josiah was declared a spendthrift and a guardian, Obediah Marston, was appointed in 1817.

John was born 22 April 1753 in Seabrook, Rockingham, NH. John was the son of Jacob JONES and Hannah DOW. John was a Captain. John is Mehitabel's 1st cousin. The Jones family did this quite frequently.

190 v. Margaret BARTON was born 29 April 1786. She married unknown BROWN.

196 xi. Amos Prescott BARTON was born in Pittsfield, Merrimack, NH 22 September 1802. Amos died April 26, 1884 in Hopkinton, Merrimack, NH, at 81 years of age. He married twice. He married Mary A. PUFFER April 29, 1864 in Concord, Merrimack, NH.⁽¹⁰¹⁾ Mary was born circa 1801. He married Jedidok Ann BEARD December 1878 in Hopkinton, Merrimack, NH. Jedidok was born ca 1819 in Bowdoinham, Sagadahoc, ME. Jedidok died February 12, 1882 in Hopkinton, Merrimack, NH, at 62 years of age.⁽¹⁰²⁾ Her body was interred 1882 in Concord, Merrimack, NH.
