2338. Levi Milton⁹ BARTON (Lemuel Russell⁸, Hosea Ballou⁷, Peter⁶, Bezaleel⁵, Samuel⁴, Samuel³, Matthew², Edward¹) was born in Newport, Sullivan, NH November 25, 1896.⁽¹⁸⁹¹⁾ Levi died January 29, 1970 in Alstead, Cheshire, NH, at 73 years of age.⁽¹⁸⁹²⁾

He married Nettie Viola PICKNELL 30 December 1937 in Unity, Sullivan, NH.⁽¹⁸⁹³⁾ Nettie was born July 18, 1907 in Springfield, Windsor, VT. Nettie died February 9, 1965 in Bellows Falls, Windham, VT, at 57 years of age. Levi was a chauffer in the 1920 census. As published in the History of Langdon, Levi purchased ten acres on Rt. 12A (#33) after he retired from the Cole Paper Co. of W. Claremont in 1946. He converted an old building on the property into a cabin in the next two years and lived in it until his death. Part of the property was deeded to his son in law in 1953 and the balance was taken over by his daughter following his death.
