1851. Stephen Emory⁸ BARTON (Capt. David⁷, Stephen⁶, Stephen⁵, Edmund⁴, Samuel³, Matthew², Edward¹) was born in Oxford, Worcester, MA December 24, 1848. Stephen died January 17, 1929 in Boston, Suffolk, MA, at 80 years of age. His body was interred in Oxford, Worcester, MA.

He married twice. He married Joyce WILMOT June 28, 1870 in Port Hastings, Cape Breton. Joyce was born about 1849 in Birmingham, Warwickshire, England. Joyce was the daughter of Thomas WILMOT MD. Joyce died April 12, 1881 in Boston, Suffolk, MA, at 31 years of age.⁽¹⁶²⁰⁾ He married Harriet Elizabeth WALKER October 13, 1884 in Boston, Suffolk, MA. Harriet was born 27 July 1840. Harriet died 20 June 1931 at 90 years of age.

Stephen was employed. Stephen was listed as the head of a family on the 1880 Census in Webster, Worcester, MA. The following individuals are also linked to this event: Lauretta Gertrude Wilmot BARTON (daughter); Ida Myrtis BARTON (daughter); Joyce WILMOT (wife). Stephen had his will probated 1929 in Boston, Suffolk, MA.⁽¹⁶²¹⁾ At the birth of his daughter Ida Myrtis (born Myra) Stephen was a telegrapher. Stephen was residing in a suite of rooms at the Buckminster Hotel in Boston when he wrote his will. He left his large collection of memorabelia of his aunt Clara including numerous awards to his son in law Stephen Butler.

Stephen Emory BARTON and Joyce WILMOT had the following children:

3318 i. Irving Wilmot⁹ BARTON was born January 11, 1872. Irving died January 21, 1872 at less than one year of age.

3320 iii. Edith Joyce BARTON was born in Worcester, Worcester, MA April 3, 1875. Edith died June 15, 1876 in Webster, Worcester, MA, at 1 year of age.

3321 iv. Lauretta Gertrude Wilmot BARTON was born in Webster, Worcester, MA December 7, 1876.⁽¹⁶²²⁾ Lauretta died April 5, 1883 in Oxford, Worcester, MA, at 6 years of age.
