363. Alfred⁶ BARTON (Flint⁵, Edmund⁴, Samuel³, Matthew², Edward¹) was born in Sidney, ME March 18, 1795. Alfred died June 9, 1849 in Anson, Somerset, ME, at 54 years of age.⁽⁴⁶⁶⁾ His body was interred in North Anson, Somerset, ME.

He married Sarah COLLINS February 3, 1822.⁽⁴⁶⁷⁾ Sarah was born October 3, 1802. Sarah died October 2, 1886 at 83 years of age. Sarah was listed as the head of a family on the 1850 Census in North Anson, Somerset, ME. 904 viii. Portugal BARTON was born November 1, 1836. Portugal died August 3, 1865 at 28 years of age. His body was interred in St. Paul, Ramsey, MN. Portugal was listed as a household member living with Percival BARTON in the 1860 Census in Inver Grove, Dakota, MN. The following individuals are also linked to this event: Henry Clay BARTON (household member); Helen Mae BARTON (household member); Sarah PAINE (household member). Portugal was a blacksmith. He served in the Civil War being mustered out from Company B, Minnesota 1st Heavy Artillery 27 Sep 1865. This conflicts with the death record we have for him.
