He married Martha HINDS January 12, 1817 in Clinton, Kennebec, ME. Martha was born About 1796. She was listed as a household member of Asher Hinds BARTON's house in the Census of in Sebasticook, Kennebec, ME. The following individual is also linked to this event: Eliza GREELEY (household member).

+ 872 iii. Marcia P. BARTON was born October 2, 1820.

873 iv. Elmer Boyden BARTON was born in Benton, Somerset, ME July 13, 1822. Elmer died 2 August 1849 at 27 years of age.

875 vi. Amos BARTON was born in Winslow, Kennebec, ME December 6, 1825. Amos died May 1860 in Union, IL, at 34 years of age. Amos was a laborer and according to the 1860 mortality schedule he hanged himself.
