274. David6 BARTON (David5, Elisha (Elijah)4, Samuel3, Matthew2, Edward1) was born in South Hadley, Hampshire, MA August 13, 1763. David died October 30, 1849 in Marshall, Oneida, NY, at 86 years of age.

He married Lydia FULLER March 3, 1785 in Ludlow, Hampden, MA. Lydia was born May 11, 1765 in Toland, CT. Lydia was the daughter of Dea. Joshua FULLER and Mercy LATHRUP. Lydia died October 31, 1849 in Marshall, NY, at 84 years of age. The family moved from Granby to Paris (now Marshall) in Oneida County about 1793. It is said that David's was the first settlement made by white men in the area. State negotiations with the indians forced him to move again in 1795. Both David and Lydia were buried in Hanover Cemetery in Marshall on the same day. He was a founder and life long supporter of the Hanover Congregational Church.

David BARTON and Lydia FULLER had the following children:

child 625 i. Eliphaz7 BARTON was born in Granby, Hampshire, MA August 13, 1786. Eliphaz died June 25, 1789 in Granby, Hampshire, MA, at 2 years of age.

child 626 ii. Sophia BARTON was born in Granby, Hampshire, MA October 15, 1788. Sophia died June 18, 1826 at 37 years of age. She married Rufas BACON. Rufas was born circa 1786.

child + 627 iii. Millicent BARTON was born February 15, 1790.

child 628 iv. Lydia BARTON was born April 24, 1793. She married Amos NORTON. Amos was born circa 1792. Amos was listed as the head of a family on the 1850 Census in Spring Lake, Ottowa, MI. The following individual is also linked to this event: Lydia BARTON (household member).

child + 629 v. Eliphaz Breed BARTON was born May 15, 1795.

child + 630 vi. David Lathrup BARTON was born December 24, 1798.

child + 631 vii. Clarissa BARTON was born June 26, 1800.

child + 633 ix. Alexander Hamilton BARTON was born June 1, 1805.

child + 634 x. Caroline BARTON was born October 12, 1809.
